I think it would be easier to find, say a 30-year-old woman who will consider you in her age range than an 18-year-old or 56-year-old for example).
I think most people generally like to date someone near their age. the way I see it, it's none of my business or anyone else's who goes out with whom. The heck with other's and what they think--they aren't living their lives for you, so don't live yours for them.
However, regardless of what culture you come from, it is considered acceptable – if not – for the man to be older than the woman.

The younger they are, the smaller the age gap and the older, the older the age gap. I would guess though, the much younger you go, the harder it will be to find someone (and the same with older as well believe it or not).
